NIGERIA : U19 Cham: Nigeria Jump-start preparation

The coaching crew of the Nigeria U19 National Men team Monday began preparation for the global met billed for Novi Sad, Serbia with an open camp tryout at the Sports Hall of the Lagos National Stadium with 25 players jostling for a place in the 12-man squad.

The coaching crew headed by the Nigeria Junior National team head coach, Adeka Dauda is to see who among the kids is good enough to progress to the final stage of close camping slated for the Ahmadu Bel

lo Stadium, Kaduna from June 9 through July 8.

According to the former Dodan Warriors coach, the aim of the ten-day open camp in Lagos is to give kids who fall within the age an opportunity for a place in the team.

He gave some of the invited players names as Points Guards: Michael Oheiro, Daniel Daudu and Chiwendu Nwaigbo; Shooting Guard: Seyi Ayodele Ahmed, Mohammed Bukur, Deji Egbeyemi, Nosa Omorogbe; Small Forward: George Ehiawgina, Ibrahim Adamu, Faourk Oyalade, Ifeanyi Mbah. Power Forward: Azeez Oladimeji, Oluwaseyi Michael Ayodele among others.

The camp is to run from Monday to Saturday, June 8 with coaches Emmanuel Okolo of the University of Lagos basketball team and Emmanuel Ogah of the FCT Rocks assisting.
